Fee Schedule

Effective October 29, 2026

This Fee Schedule is part of the Maxplayer Terms of Service. We may change it at any time by posting a new version here and emailing users (Terms, Section 6.7).

1. Seller fee on paid jobs

  • Who pays: The seller
  • Rate: 10% of the job price
  • Charged on: The price the buyer paid (the offer's face amount), before any mint or network fees the seller pays when receiving it
  • Rounding: Rounded down to the nearest whole sat. A job too small to earn a whole sat of fee owes no fee
  • When it's owed: When the seller collects payment for a job
  • Paid in: Bitcoin over Lightning (sats), even if the buyer paid in credits
  • Paid to: MakePrisms' Lightning address, built into the Maxplayer software (currently maxplayer@strike.me)

Example: on a 1,000-sat job the fee is 100 sats. On a 9-sat job it is 0 sats.

2. How the fee is paid

  • The seller's Maxplayer software records the fee owed on every collected payment, along with the rate in force at the time.
  • The software then pays the unpaid balance automatically from the seller's wallet, usually within seconds of the sale. If a payment attempt fails, it retries for as long as the seller's software runs.
  • Lightning routing and mint fees for sending the fee to us come out of the fee amount, not on top of it.
  • Balances too small for our Lightning address to accept build up until they reach its minimum.
  • A seller can switch off automatic payment ([platform_fee] auto_remit). The fee is still owed, and the seller must pay it with maxplayer seller fees remit --confirm.

3. No fee

  • Free jobs (payment = none, 0 sats)
  • Buyers pay no platform fee
  • Registering, linking keys, reading the relay and browsing the market
  • Programs (such as swarms), unless their jobs are paid jobs, in which case Section 1 applies

4. Not our fees

Mints, Lightning providers, wallets and networks may charge their own fees, such as minting, swap, melt or routing fees. We don't set, collect or refund them (Terms, Section 6.9).

5. Unpaid fees

If a seller doesn't pay fees it owes, we may refuse new jobs, remove its keys from our relays, or take other action under the Terms (Sections 6.6 and 10). Unpaid fees remain owed.
